Online Qaida Classes: Learn to Read the Quran from Scratch

Build the foundation every Quran student needs with a certified, Ijazah-holding teacher by your side. Our online Qaida classes are 1-on-1, starting from the Arabic alphabet and correct pronunciation (Makharij) and progressing step by step toward confident, independent reading.

What Our Online Qaida Course Covers

Qaida is the foundation of reading the Quran. This course teaches absolute beginners how to recognize the Arabic letters, pronounce them from the correct articulation points (Makharij), and connect them together to form words and short verses.

Along the way, you'll learn the short and long vowel marks (Harakat and Madd) that change how letters sound, and the basic rules of pronunciation that prepare you for fluent reading. As a general guide, most students complete Qaida in roughly 3-6 months.

Because every session is 1-on-1, your teacher builds a customized syllabus around your current level, whether you're starting from the very first letter or brushing up on rules you learned years ago, with monthly progress reports to track your growth.

How Our Qaida Course Builds Your Reading Skills

Reading the Quran is a skill built in layers. Our Qaida course moves through each layer in order, making sure one is solid before building the next.

Letter Recognition

Learn to recognize all 28 Arabic letters in their different forms, building visual familiarity with the script from day one.

Pronunciation (Makharij)

Practice producing each letter's sound from its correct articulation point, with live correction from your teacher every session.

Vowel Marks (Harakat & Madd)

Learn how short vowels (Harakat) and elongation marks (Madd) change the sound and length of each letter.

Connecting Words & Fluent Reading

Combine letters and vowels into words and short verses, building toward independent, fluent reading of the Quran.

Once you can read confidently and accurately, you're ready to move on to our Tajweed course, where these same letters and sounds are refined into the full rules of correct recitation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the Qaida course take to complete? +

Most students complete the Qaida course in roughly 3-6 months, depending on how many sessions per week they attend and how much they practice between lessons. Students on more frequent plans typically progress faster.

Do I need to know any Arabic before starting Qaida? +

No. Qaida is designed for absolute beginners and starts from the very first Arabic letters. Many of our students begin with no prior knowledge of the Arabic script.

What's the difference between Qaida and Tajweed? +

Qaida teaches you to recognize Arabic letters, pronounce them correctly, and read words and short verses. Tajweed builds on those reading skills with the detailed rules for reciting the Quran exactly as it was revealed. Most students complete Qaida before moving on to our Tajweed course.

Your free trial class is a no-obligation session with one of our teachers, who will assess your current familiarity with the Arabic alphabet and recommend a starting point and pace.

Is there a discount for siblings learning Qaida together? +

Yes. If you are enrolling multiple children from the same family, our Family Package offers custom multi-student pricing and scheduling. Contact us for details.

Which plan should I start with for Qaida? +

Most beginners do well on our Starter plan (3 sessions per week, 30 minutes), which is enough to build steady momentum.
